Six days in Thailand

Thailand is one of the best tourist locations, especially for Indians. We mostly prefer this as our first “across the sea” trip for many reasons like, Less flight ticket price, The locations which give a so-called “Foreign Feel ”  Pristine Beaches, Amazing pagoda’s, Delicious Fruits, lovely people, etc,.

This is also a great place to hang out for the Honeymoon Couples, as well as animal lovers. You can hold anything in your hand from fried Cockroaches, baby tigers, Monkeys, birds, snakes, and even your partner. I am not including your partner in animal species :p

Thailand is one of the cheapest destinations in Southeast Asia. Anyone can travel like a Local here. Below is the guide on the must-see locations in Bangkok and Krabi.

Bangkok:

Where to stay: River View Guest House, China Town – Bangkok

Day 1:

Arrived at the Airport and took the Cab to reach “River View Guest House” in China Town. We chose this guesthouse because of its high value for such a low price, ambiance, and surroundings. This is the best place for such a price I ever stayed in my lifetime. They do have a terrace restaurant, from which the river Chao Phraya and the buildings on the opposite side can be viewed eating their delicious food too. You can also view Wat Arun “The Temple of the Dawn ” from here using a telescope. This itself is a feast to our eyes.

On Day 1, we reached the Guesthouse around 6 AM in the morning, but the check-in time is 2 PM. But they still allowed us inside, we used the common washrooms the hostelers use, to get ready and kept our luggage in the locker and was all set to explore the Old Town of Bangkok.

The top touristy temples in Bangkok can be reached traveling via the Chao Phraya river. I had visited

  • Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of Emerald Buddha)
    • This is also called as Grand Palace, which had once served as a Royal residence
    • Visit this place to witness the splendor and beauty of its buildings and meticulously manicured gardens.
    • Entrance ticket price is 500 Baht per person(Rs 1100 Approx)
    • Opening Hours – 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • Wat Pho ( Temple of the Reclining Buddha)
    • Wat Pho is located just behind the grand palace and is Bangkok’s oldest and largest temple complex
    • the temple compound is also the national headquarters for the teaching and preservation of traditional Thai medicine, including Thai massage
    • It is advised to take the relaxing foot or head and shoulder massage here at a reasonable cost and it’s highly safe.
    • Entry Fee: 200 Baht per person; Thai Massage for 30 Min: 260 Baht.Open from 8.00am to 6.30pm
  • Wat Arun ( Temple of Dawn)
    • Wat Arun is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River and is easily one of the most recognizable and memorable landmarks of Bangkok’s skyline.
    • It attracts every visitor with its dazzling design decorated with tiny pieces of colored glass and Chinese porcelain placed delicately into intricate patterns
    • Visitors can climb up to the middle level of the grand pagoda, from where you can witness a beautiful view of the Chao Phraya River below as well as the Grand Palace and Wat Pho on the opposite bank of the river.
    • Entrance Ticket: 50 Baht per person. (In the entrance they dress you in traditional attire for additional 100 Bhat).Open from 8.30am to 5.30pm after which the boat from the west bank to east bank isn’t available.
  • Wat Traimit (Golden Buddha) – World’s largest solid gold Buddha statue
    • It is actually located in China town.
    • The golden Buddha statue is the crowning attraction of this temple, residing on the fourth level of the complex.
    • The second floor houses an impressive interpretive center that tells the history of the Chinese community in Bangkok.
    • The third floor houses a museum that reveals the history of the Golden Buddha image itself. The museum is closed on Mondays
    • Entrance Ticket: 100 Baht per person for museum entrance and 40 Baht per person to view Buddha statue. Open from 8 am to 5pm

Day 2

Safari World

You would need to stay the entire day in Safari World. It is a large zoo where you can explore wildlife up close and personal and witness amazing animal Shows like Orang Utan Boxing Show, Sea Lion Show, Hollywood Cowboy Stunt Show, Dolphin Show, Bird Show

Get the Map and note down the show timings, such that you don’t miss any of them. Taking Pictures with Tigers, Orangutans, feeding Giraffe and Birds are real fun!

Day 3 & 4

Krabi

People visiting Bangkok city will definitely have any one of these beach destinations(Pattaya, Krabi, Phuket) in their itinerary. I chose Krabi because is it less crowded compared to the other two.

I stayed in a hotel close by Ao Nang Beach. There is a free Airport shuttle form Airport which drops in various locations in Krabi. We visited Railey Beach as soon as we checked in the hotel.

Railey Beach – You should take a long-tail boat from Ao-Nang to Railey. Its again the pristine beach with clear waters and you can see the colorful fishes joyfully swimming, close by the shore.

Koh Tup & Koh Mor Islands – If you ever dreamed of walking in a sandbar between the sea, it is the place for you.

These islands can be reached by Longtail boat from Ao-Nang / Railey beaches. Or you can book the four islands tour to visit this place. Koh Tup and Koh Mor together with Koh Gai or Chicken Island are connected by a sandbar called “Talay Walk” where you can walk through during low tide.

Phi Phi Island day Tour from Ao-Nang

Near Ao-Nang beach there are many tour operators who provide a variety of day trips. (Do not book for day trips in Airport, too costly). In this day trip, we visited Maya Bay, Monkey Bay, Phi Phi Island, Bamboo Island, Chicken island via speed boat.

The concept of High tide and Low tide can be witnessed in Krabi. Around 3 PM we saw the sea here recedes by 1 km or more and comes back during the High tide. Personally, I liked Railey beach far better than the Phi Phi Islands tour.

Day 5

Damneon Saduak Floating market – Just experience shopping by sitting in a long-tail boat. Too crowded and too pricey.

Tiger Temple Kanchanaburi – You can take pictures with real tigers here. You should not wear bright color dresses, and volunteers will be there to guide you.

Elephant Safari Kanchanaburi – You can ride on an elephant back going through the jungle and the elephant will take you halfway through the river and splash water on you.

Day 6

Wax museum and Sea Life

There is a combo ticket for Sealife ocean world aquarium and Madame Tussaud wax museum in Klook(The prices are always low if you book online). Visited this place only because it is my first trip overseas. Otherwise, I am not a great fan of wax museums. It is located in the Siam discovery mall.

PS: This Guest House in Bangkok is a little away from the railway station. It’s always safe to have a friend with you while walking during nights form station to the guest house.

Never miss Bangkok Flower Market (Pak Khlong Talad), it’s near the banks of river Chao praya.

You can get almost everything in the Seven-Eleven supermarket.

Spread Joy!! Spread Positiveness!!!
